About Quagis
Quagis is about giving back to music. Music has been such an important, influential part of my life. Many artists who Iove and inspire me were brilliant innovators, pulling off styles in their genre no one thought of, or creating their own new genre. Inventing new styles of music enthralls me. Most of the music that I make is completely digital, meaning all on a computer. This gives me seemingly infinite possibilities that my musical heros did not have the luxury to have. Music is such a gift in our lives. I have met people who I may not have ever gotten close with, and have had a lot of great times making music with my friends.
From a listening standpoint, music has gotten me through many difficult times as well. I feel as if a lot of the music I make has an upbeat energy. When I am making it I feel good about myself and good about the world. Especially in certain songs like 2020, and Purple Sky. While people have varying musical preferences, it gives me an immense feeling of satisfaction that I am doing something positive for the world, and that my music could be helping someone out there.
Currently, I use Logic Pro, Ableton, an Arturia Midi Keyboard, and a Novation Launchpad.
